Marketing in public administration – a day of lessons in the district town of Schleiz
On 10 March 2025, the Saale-Orla district invited us to its district town of Schleiz in perfect weather. At the beginning, we were warmly welcomed by the training manager of the Saale-Orla district office, Ms Oechsner, and our fellow trainees Lilly and Lina. They provided us with lots of interesting and useful information about the district and the diverse tasks of the district office.
Afterwards, we enjoyed a hearty breakfast together in the district council hall of the district office.
Lilly and Lina then took us on a tour of the district town of Schleiz and showed us several sights, explaining their cultural and historical background. Highlights included the Rutheneum in Schleiz, the ‘Schleizer Dreieck’ motor racing circuit, Schleiz Castle with its castle gardens and the ‘Alte Münze’ (old mint).
We ended the day at Burgk Castle, just a few minutes' drive from Schleiz. From the nearby observation tower, we had an impressive view of the Thuringian Sea and the castle grounds.
Finally, we would like to express our sincere thanks to the Saale-Orla District Office and especially to Lilly and Lina, who organised and made this wonderful and informative day possible for us.
