New outdoor table tennis tables for our school

Two new outdoor table tennis tables for the schoolyard of our school were handed over on 14 December 2023, accompanied by an opening tournament of class BG 22. The guests were welcomed by the deputy headmaster Mr Nindelt.

Andreas Schubert, Member of the State Parliament, handed over the funding cheque for the amount of €1,281.93 to Mr Nindelt and Ms Zörner from the City of Gera's Education Department. The same amount was contributed by the SBBS business/administration support association, represented by its chairwoman Mrs Möhl.

"With the new table tennis tables, we want to improve the design of the school playground by providing an opportunity for sports activities during breaks. However, the aim must be to find a solution together with the city of Gera in order to be able to offer PE lessons to all pupils again. The necessary sports hall capacities are currently lacking," explained Mr Nindelt.

In his words to the pupils and guests, Mr Schubert described the use of the donated funds as very beneficial for the school and education.

The event concluded with the award ceremony for the opening tournament and a final game with our training partners from BZ Handel in Gera.
