Amthorschule takes a stand at the state meeting of ‘Schule ohne Rassismus - Schule mit Courage’

On 12 November 2024, the 9th state meeting of the network Schule ohne Rassismus - Schule mit Courage took place in Weimar. Under the motto #wirsindnichtneutral (we are not neutral), more than 250 committed pupils, teachers and interested parties from Thuringia's courage schools came together. In numerous workshops and events, the participants exchanged views on their commitment and current issues. The focus was on the question of how schools can actively and consciously create a solidary, democratic and open coexistence and how hatred and exclusion can be recognised, reflected upon and combated in everyday school life. The special highlight for the pupils in the BVJ class at SBBS Wirtschaft und Verwaltung Gera was the all-day workshop ‘Sound off!’, in which they learnt the basics of radio journalism and conducted interviews and surveys equipped with a microphone and recording device. The recordings were then edited independently using an editing programme.
